Department's Statement on Harassment
Zero Tolerance for Harassment
The Department of Philosophy values an inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment for all its students, faculty, staff, and visitors. We are committed to maintaining an environment that is free from harassment, and in which all members of the departmental community feel safe.
If you are subject to harassment on campus, please bring the matter to the attention of the Department Chair, the Department’s Equity Advisor, the Department Manager, or any member of the faculty you feel comfortable approaching (for contact info, see here).
Note: McMaster defines harassment as “a course of vexatious comments or conduct that is known or ought reasonably to be known to be unwelcome.” See McMaster’s Discrimination and Harassment Policy and its Emergency Guidebook (links below) for this definition and examples.
